It was therefore essential to change this designation and remove the material from the waste management regime.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, we developed a solution that reclassified the material as a secondary raw material in accordance with applicable legislation. The next step was to secure approval from the waste producer, the relevant authorities, and the existing waste disposer for our proposed solution. This process was neither simple nor swift, but we ultimately succeeded.

This innovative approach delivers benefits to all stakeholders: the former waste producer enhances their ESG reporting performance, while the refractory materials manufacturer gains a reliable source of a critical raw material and reduces dependency on imports.

Our solution not only has a positive environmental impact but also aligns perfectly with the principles of the circular economy.

Quartz shards before (left) and after crushing (right)

Assignment Crush waste quartz glass into a fraction of 0 – 12 mm to enable its further use in the production of refractory materials.
